electrosynthpop!

can't wait 'til 18th october for the release of DM's new album. it's called playing the angel. depeche mode (DM) is #1 in my all time favorite bands' list. i have loved them for 25 years and i am so glad they're still around.

am a sucker for synths. i never cared when my ex (to the 3rd power) dissed them for being monotonous, uber-repetitive and boring. that explains why i still have his double disc vinyl of the live 101 album... call it my, uhrm, "no return, no exchange" policy. nyahahaha! who cares if my turn table no longer works? it's such a cool souvenir anyways.

meanwhile... as i await in agony for the new DM stuff... i'm getting my synthpop fix via amazon.com's free downloads. am currently on a downloading frenzy... i feel like such a shark. deprived of catchy electonica, i'm really going crazy right now... downloading, singing and dancing.... instead of working. he he he. playing truant tonight.

my new finds aside from brian hazard's (aka color theory) tunes are the following synthpop artists:

wave in head - another one-man-band who sounds very much like DM albeit with a german flavor. on a loop in my ipod now is Zeit Zu Leben and Im Traum.

ladytron - cool name eh? they're an all female elctronic act. just like in the misogynistic domain of rock music, female synthpop musicians are a rarity as well. i love their song called Play Girl.

and then there's also blue october, cosmicity, neuropa, iris, autoparty and the echoing green. but am still keenly digesting everything, deciding which ones i love the most.

ahh... but this is guilt-free music. they're giving it away so it's 100% LEGIT. no thievery now eh? ;-)

try amazon.com for these rare finds. it's not just electronica either. there's MORE!you'll find a lot of good music there. they're unknowns though, no big names would easily give away free stuff anyway. but they're still very good. even dial up land dwellers like moi would get their fill. :-D

indie music is far more interesting than the usual fare you hear on FM radio anyway. i wish they'd play this kind of music in local clubs. hmmm... perhaps i could learn DJ'ing one of these days.

cucaracha tales

for the very first time this term, i made it to my 8am class ON TIME. was feeling all calm and zen too.

nope, i did NOt oversleep. not today. wasn't rushing or anything, there was no need for all that. kasi nga i didn't get any sleep last night. not a wink. got some work done atleast. oh and i was also busy downloading synthpop tunes, hehehe.

was all psyched up for today's discussion... on the agenda: descriptive vs prescriptive claims, clarifying and evaluating moral arguments, moral decision- making, motives and means and ends, etcetera. yeah, heavy-boring stuff to be lecturing at eight friggin' am... such an UNHOLY hour too. but what the hell... i was uberhyper. happens everytime i'm sleep-deprived. was so "in the zone" too...

but then i lost my composure when this cucaracha came crawling out of nowhere. true to form, this smart roach knew instantly who to head for... poor me. am deathly afraid of them brown shiny six-legged and long-antennaed creatures.

i let out a gasp.
and went ewwww!
that broke the ice.
put a temporary stop to all that serious talk about them uhrm, "morals".

cracked them up too.

so much for an amusing "performance",
though it was totally unrehearsed.

and good thing it wasn't a flying ipis.

i would've fainted, for sure. :-(

moldy, moldy, moldy. been real busy. :-(

i miss blogging too... but the ipod's distracted me in a major way. most of my on-line time is spent downloading songs. and moving them to itunes --> mini. tee-heeh.

trying not to be a sour puss about the spanking new nano. wonder if i can trade my mini for a nano? hmmm... it's on my wish list too, but what the heck, i've already been doing a lot of coveting these days, anyway. drools, drools, drools.

ahh but they're all legit, you see. am on a downloading frenzy from amazon.com now. got some nifty euro-synthpop tunes too, all FREE. more about that later.

been spending a lot of time with other dyke buddies too. here are my "homies" aka lezzie friends (aka FIENDS too) and moi.

we're the dyke coven now: we're messing with the archetypes...

now this is the maiden-mother-crone that spells "UNHOLY" trinity.

it's actually what we fondly call the achi-shobe-tai ma dyke triumvirate. a little mandarin there, so go figure.

btw, that means little sister-big sister-granny.

yeah.

achi and shobe are supposed to be "dyke sisters". well, aren't we all?

well, i really don't mind being the crone. i actually kind of like the idea. reminds me of my fave Discworld character, Granny Esme Weatherwax.

technically she's the oldest in her coven (so am i).

speaking of ageing... it's been almost 3 weeks since i turned 34 and i'm finding that it's not so bad, really. age is just a number anyway. hoping to age very "gracefully" as the years go by. a little bit of wisdom won't hurt either, eh?

so now  i'm wishing for A LOT, why the hell not? :-P

school is out and that means i ought to have more time now to blog, write updates, and give this site a much needed face-lift.

been holed up in the dungeon. it is teeming with slaves too. so i'd been very very busy. this mistress-slash-dom biz is exhausting. *sighs*
