I never cared much about shopping.
Not shopping for clothes and such anyway. I know a lot of poeple love to do this. Like, shop til you drop. I have a pal who swears that shopping is very "therapeutic". Whatever!
When I get depressed either I go for a haircut or splurge on books. Well, the past few days even though I wasn't really depressed, I still ended up splurging on books anyway. Got about 15 titles total from different Booksale outlets, and PB. I had to make the most out of the PB sale too which ended last weekend.
Oh and the hair on my head still is intact, by the way he he he. I like having longer hair these days. Something to flip when I have to make a point, you know what I mean? ;-)
Wonderful Gab escorted me around town to go shopping for clothes... something I do only about once or twice a year, tops. And that's just because I needed some new rags for the new school year. I absolutely trust her judgment when it comes to what fits and what's actually bagay with me.
Hmmm... funny word, that: "bagay". That translates to "thing" literally, but then again, when you say to someone, "that is just the very thing for you"... well... you then know it's "bagay" eh?
Got a nifty four-piece suit that I thoroughly enjoyed fitting (and ended up buying). It was such a hot afternoon too... must be about 36 degrees C outside, and even inside the mall, it wasn't chilly as usual. Anyhoo, fitting is always fun, something about dressing and undressing, preening in front of the mirror, and parading around the room in new outfits and knowing you really look good too. Talk about narcissism. Nyahahahar.
Gab made herself very useful as she helps me put on the purple top, silly me I never figured out that there was actually a zipper at the side, no wonder it was so sikip, he he he.
That and the jacket, and the overcoat too and I didn't even break a sweat despite the sweltering heat. I am not the "sweaty" type anyway. Gab was complaining about sweating though and says she's beginning to feel a lot like Tina now, and that I was certaintly beginning to look a lot like Bette. Porma-wise, atleast. Oh and meet Bette Porter... that's her on the left, and that's her usual look.
In case you wondered, Tina and Bette are characters from our favorite series about Hollywood dykes called The L-Word.
But hmmm... I kinda liked the look actually. "Corporate drag" could be a lot of fun, yeah. Wanted to get a tie, suspenders and a fedora too but then that would be really splurging, eh?
